WELLNESS CENTRE
Take your health and well-being to new levels.
What is a Wellness Centre?
A Wellness Centre is a place where a combination of alternative therapies, counselling and medical healthcare professionals can come together to offer a complete holistic healthcare service. They will usually offer a variety of therapies and services, including massage, aromatherapy, Bowen technique, meditation, acupuncture, EFT (emotional freedom technique), hopi candles, reflexology, shiatsui, counselling, hypnotherapy and Reiki healing to name but a few. You may also find life coaches and nutritionists, dieticians, etc. Each centre will have its own mix of therapists to choose from. You will be able to telephone for an appointment but if you are unsure about what service you would like, they can usually give you great guidance. In today's environment therapists have to operate within the law and are covid-19 aware, so you will be completely safe. There will be a few measures to take note of but that will not detract from the quality of your care.
What To Expect From A Session
Holistic practitioners provide expertise in the mind, body and spirit. They are qualified and grounded individuals with a particular interest in treating a person on a holistic basis. Often the mind can have huge implications on illness in the body, which is why certain healing practices can help. You should expect to complete a questionnaire when you attend, detailing any illnesses, diseases, etc., you may have. Some conditions may not be treated holistically, so you may have to revise a treatment plan. The practitioner will go through your questionnaire with you to ensure they have a full understanding of your ailment and the treatment you are seeking. They may also recommend other kinds of therapies or treatments for you as well. You can be guided by their expertise or not.
Depending on the session you decide on will depend on what happens next. Some sessions are carried out fully clothed, such as in reiki, and others require you to remove clothing, such as massage.
Can children receive massage?
Yes, children can receive massage. We offer gentle, age-appropriate massage techniques designed to support growing bodies and overall well-being.
Things to Consider:
✔ Parental Consent – we require a parent or guardian to sign a consent form before treatment.
✔ Age Requirements – some treatments may be limited to older children, while others (like relaxation massage) can be suitable for younger kids.
✔ Supervision – a parent/guardian may need to be present during the session.
✔ Child-Specific Techniques – Therapists may use gentler, shorter, and more customized approaches to ensure the child’s comfort and safety.
Massage and wellness treatments for children can help with stress relief, growing pains, posture, and relaxation, making them a great addition to a child’s well-being routine.
